Let this guided visualization take you into a serene world that existed long ago. Walk into a valley where Elves still sing under the starlight, a place of beauty and fable….
This guided relaxation video is also a guided visualization meditation video. Created by TheHonestGuys, it is 20 minutes 6 seconds long and uses visualization techniques that focus on a single theme of the guided visualization for relaxation by visiting the “Lost Valley Of the Elves”. It uses still video and still images of nature scenes and special effects and there is a male instructor voiceover to guide you through guided visualization techniques whilst nature sounds, relaxing music, sound effects or a combination of these are played in the background.
The main theme of this guided visualization meditation video is well focused on guided visualization, more specifically the guided visualization for am imaginary Lost Valley Of the Elves. There is also a secondary image relaxation theme based around a combination of still images and still video clips of scenes to support the guided visualization theme.
The audio used in this guided visualization meditation video contains the voice of the male instructor. His pace and tone are nice and relaxing. At various stages of the video there is either: relaxing music; nature sounds such as a river, waterfall and bird song;, sound effects, for example, steps along a path; opening doors; getting undressed and dressed; or a combination of these played in the background.
The verbal instructions given by the male instructor in this guided visualization meditation video are clear and detailed. There first 38 seconds of this video are the titles screens. This is also done whilst the screen contains white dots moving towards the viewer displayed on a black background, giving a feeling of travelling through the stars. At 38 seconds the male instructor begins to speak as follows:
To begin this journey into Middle Earth, you have to first pass through a portal to be cleansed of the worries and negative emotions most people feel in everyday life.
So find a time when you are alone.
It need only be for 20 minutes.
Or you could even try it before dropping off to sleep.
The travelling white dots are displayed for about 24 more seconds and another title screen is displayed during this time. At 1 minute 26 seconds he continues as follows:
Close your eyes, and imagine you are walking from whatever room you are in.
Go to the front door of your house and step outside.
At about 1 minute 42 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a rocky river scene with barren hills or mountains in the background.
Whatever lies outside your house is not there now.
There is instead, a clear river.
It is high summer, and the banks are lush with long grasses and reeds.
The water runs clear and smooth over a bed of gravel and birds sing from the trees that overhang the water.
At about 1 minute 56 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen very slowly cross fades into a scene with lush green fields lined with trees or bushes and poppies populate the first field. At 2 minutes 26 seconds he continues:
There is a path that leads away from the water.
At this point there is the sound of footsteps on a path.
You follow it, until through the trees you see before you a white house.
Here the screen slowly cross fades into a scene with a white house surrounded by lush green trees and bushes with a path leading to it. There is also the sound of footsteps on the path. He continues and there are sound effects played in the background:
It is large and square with a brilliant red tiled roof.
You walk up the garden path and the three shallow steps to the door.
Turn the handle and step inside.
You are in an entrance hall.
Steps arch upwards and there are two doors, one each side of you.
Go to the door on your left.
You are in a tiled room with a bench along one wall where a bathrobe is folded.
At one end of the room is a large shower above a round blue circle on the floor.
It was hot outside and you long to bathe.
As naturally as you would in your own home, you undress and step under the shower in the blue circle.
You see three buttons before you.
They are white, yellow and blue.
Press the white button.
Water pours from the shower.
At about 5 minutes, whilst he is speaking, on the house scene there is another scene slowly faded onto it with light blue glowing lights travelling towards you on a blue background. You can still see the house scene through the blue background.
It is spring water, soft as cloud on the skin.
Heated to just the right temperature.
And as it flows over you, it carries away any negativity, sadness, illness or anger and washes it down the drain.
At about 5 minutes 25 seconds, the light blue glowing lights scene has been slowly faded away to leave just the house scene on its own. He continues at 5 minutes 29 seconds and whilst he is speaking, on the house scene there is another scene slowly faded onto it with a yellow, glowing, rotating light. You can still see the house scene behind it:
Now press the yellow button.
What flows over you now is not water, but sunlight, beaming down on you like a summer day.
Drying you, and blessing you.
Now you are ready for the third button.
The blue one.
At 6 minutes the yellow, glowing, rotating light has been slowly faded away to leave just the house scene on its own. At 6 minutes 8 seconds, whilst he is speaking, on the house scene there is another scene slowly faded onto it with various coloured, glowing, lights on a dark background, travelling towards you from the centre. You can still see the house scene behind it:
Energy bursts upwards from the blue circle on the floor.
It is the raw energy of the stars of the universe itself.
It feels like blue white power spearing from the souls of your feet to the top of your head like diamonds bursting.
So much energy, and you are part of it.
The power stops.
By 6 minutes 58 seconds the various coloured, glowing, lights on a dark background, travelling towards you from the centre have been slowly faded away to leave just the house scene on its own. He continues speaking:
You step out of the shower.
Go to the bench and put on the soft, comfortable bathrobe.
You then walk from the tiled room back into the entrance hall.
Cross it and open the door on the right.
At 7 minutes 19 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a scene with a rocky river below a mountain and green grass, bushes and trees all around:
There is a river before you.
But it is not the same river you first saw.
The air smells different.
This is the smell of moors and mountains.
The water flows over a natural ford and is shallow enough for you to paddle across.
It has a musical voice and dances under the sun.
The land before you is smooth and grassy.
At about 8 minutes 10 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a scene with lovely long green grass swaying in the breeze:
A track rises towards thick woods where the light falls across you in dapples.
The very air smells somehow alive and fragrant.
Fern and moss and the sweeter scent of flowers, honeysuckle and roses.
As if the warm wind is blowing from a garden.
This is a place where elves have lived for thousands of years.
And you can feel it on your skin, like tiny bursting stars.
At about 8 minutes 54 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a scene with a long thin waterfall down the side of a mountain:
You walk out of the woodland and the path begins to wind downward between natural walls of rock.
You pause for a moment.
At about 9 minutes 16 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a scene with a mountain pass between the sides of two mountains and lush green trees in the foreground:
Far in the distance, a great mountain range bars the eastern sky, with its ragged white peaks forming to skirt rough and dark green with pine.
At about 9 minutes 49 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a scene with an arched bridge between two areas of greenery and a waterfall behind it:
The path turns about at a shoulder of rock.
And here you stop again because before you across a green meadow, is a bridge into this secluded elf realm.
A slender curving span of stone.
Beyond it, gates rise, and glittering white walls.
The sweet electrical feeling on your skin becomes stronger as you cross the arch of the bridge.
And cool air drifts up from the waters below it.
At about 10 minutes 39 seconds, whilst he is speaking, the screen slowly cross fades into a pure white screen. A message is displayed to ask you to close your eyes as there are no visuals for 6 minutes:
The gates open before you.
You step into a wide courtyard and walk across it to another gate.
Tall pillared buildings stretch each side of you.
And flights of stairs covered by open arched colonnades sweep upward.
The house is a vast place where many elves must live.
You stare across gardens dotted by fruit trees and clusters of bright flowers to their bright ribbons of waterfalls, which pour down green cliffs to swell the river.
Their music is a constant background noise but there are other sounds too.
A harp is playing somewhere, an ancient Elvish tune that blends sorrow and joy.
Doves coo sleepily from old trees and then you heard voices.
The ageless, silken voices of the elves.
One stops as they ascend a flight of stairs.
Long hair braided back and flowing past their waist.
Eyes like the rising of the stars in an evening sky and a face of an angel.
Those eyes have seen ages of grief, of joy, love and loss.
You walk under the shade of the balconies that fringe the house and come to a seat padded by cushions, a small table beside it holding a pitcher of cold drink and a silver goblet studded with pearls brought from a distant sea.
The harp music sinks into your heart and a voice melds with it, telling you the things you did not know you remembered.
You sit back and close your eyes and drift into the magic of the elves.
At 14 minute 45 seconds there is just relaxing music playing until 15 minutes 35 seconds and he continues:
After a time, you feel a hand touch yours, and you open your eyes.
You look up into the face of an elf.
They speak in a language you do not understand but the meaning is clear in your mind.
It is time for you to leave but you will be welcome here again.
You stand up and the elf guides you towards a door of polished wood.
You watch their hand open it and they smile and gesture for you to enter.
Taking one look back at the vivid beauty and music of this place, you step through the door and into entrance hall of the house you left to journey to another world.
At about 16 minutes 30 seconds, the screen cross fades slowly back to the white house scene.
You walk back across the shower room to where you left your clothes.
When you put them on, you notice they smell freshly laundered.
You now walk back into hall and out of the front door, down the white path towards the river.
At about 17 minutes 10 seconds, as he speaks, the screen cross fades slowly back to the rocky river below mountain scene:
Take one glance back and realise the house is not a house.
It is in fact a doorway, and that doorway is always open.
As you walk back beside the river, you’re filled with a thrill like a child of Christmas morning, knowing that you have been to the land that drifts in a parallel universe, and you have only begun to explore it.
At about 17 minutes 48 seconds, as he speaks, the screen cross fades slowly back to a pure white screen and then slowly cross fades to the image of the waterfall running down the mountainside:
The path takes your steps to the front of your own home.
As you open your front door, you look back again.
You can see your garden or street, just as it always is.
But lying over it like a mist, is an image of that Elven valley.
And a musical voice that tells you the elves there, await your return.
At about 18 minutes 25 seconds, as he speaks, the screen cross fades slowly back to a pure white screen, and he concludes:
You close your eyes, smile, and now open your eyes, holding that knowledge like a jewel inside your heart.
At 18 minutes 37 seconds, the screen cross fades to white dots moving towards the viewer displayed on a black background, giving a feeling of travelling through the stars, and title screens are overlayed on it.
