Lean back. Listen to original peaceful music. Watch “my day – my way” in this series of stills. I tried to compose this music to be a stress reliever.
This simple image relaxation video by relaxdaily is 8 minutes 18 seconds long. It does not have a single theme of focus but instead has a concept of “my day – my way”. It uses still images of a variety of different types of scenes in combination with relaxing music and some softly spoken words repeated throughout the video.
The theme of the video does not have a focused theme but has a concept of “my day – my way”. The lack of a focused visual theme is not encouraging for concentration and relaxation.
There are a wide variety of types of scenes used in this simple relaxation video.
The audio used in this relaxation video is relaxing music which has a really relaxed style and tempo to it. There is also a sentences spoken with a soft relaxing male voice which is repeated several times throughout the video: “Don’t ask why, just feel, be.”
The scenes of this simple image relaxation video show a wide variety of images including: Earth, Moon, space, stars, sun, sunshine, sunrise, skies, clouds, water, oceans, mountains, snow, trees, grass, trails, hikers, people, dancing, silhouettes, sand, beaches, footprints, waves, islands, reflections, rocks, boats, sunsets and hammocks. The people shown in some images are doing various things like sports activities, playing or holding hands, etc.
The image sizes used for this image relaxation video are all the same size, fill the screen completely; and every image is displayed for a good length of time; which together serves to aid the focusing of attention and relaxation.
The transition types between images are simple cross fades and the transition times between images are nice and slow, both factors which help maintain a relaxed state.
The video also uses a slow zooming in or out technique, or panning left or right. These techniques give the feeling of motion which I think aids relaxation.
This is a ok as a simple image relaxation video but I probably would not use it for relaxation because the theme is not well focused with a wide variety of scenes and images which I feel is a bit distracting from concentration and relaxation. All other aspects of the video are good. The music is relaxing; the images are very nice, being shown for a good length of time and completely filling the screen. There is good use of a slow zooming or panning on the images and the transitions between images are nice and slow cross fades. With regards to use as an ambient background video I find this video interesting with a good variety of scenes and would use it for this purpose. Although only 8 minutes long, it could be put on a repeat play cycle.
